DGRE LAMP

The DGRE lamp is a prototype, a one day project, build from leftovers as a memorabilia of my MA at Central Saint Martins. Each year we end up having a lot of scrap materials from projects of both first and second years. To preserve my memories of the two years spent there I decided to build myself a lamp.

The body is part of the lighting system that I contributed to design and build for the Material Futures Degree Show, and that will be passed on for future shows. The design was initially inspired by Jean Prouvé's Potence lamp, it has been realised with minimum material expenses and waste in mind.

The feet of the DGRE are bent metal tubes that were about to be trashed, used as found from another project, and are connected to the lamp with stainless steel saddle clips for pipes. The lamp is counterbalanced by two Boa sand bags.
